Service is a way of life for Olympia Kingdom who spends more than 800 hours a year volunteering. After graduation, she’ll continue to serve her community as a preschool or elementary teacher, and eventually as a speech pathologist. She attributes much of her success to her professors who challenge her to succeed in and out of the classroom.

“I love UNT Dallas. The faculty and staff are so welcoming. They really want you to succeed and want to provide you all the tools necessary. My professors know me by name and ask how my classes are coming along. It’s a family, and I really like it.

The world needs more people to serve as advocates for those in need, people who are willing to rally around a cause and help others. I want to be one of those people. I was able to attend UNT Dallas because someone helped me financially. Someday I hope I can give back in return.”
